Turkish music icon Erkan Ogur to perform at Tehran festival

TEHRAN – The organizers of the 33rd Fajr International Music Festival announced on Sunday that the celebrated Turkish musician Erkan Ogur, who is considered a pioneer of fretless guitars, will give performances during the event in Tehran in January 2018.

He is regarded as a master of kopuz and baglama, types of lute that are used in Turkish and Iranian music.

Over his 34-year musical career, Ogur, 63, has produced over ten albums, most of which feature a fusion of Turkish and Western music.
